Starring the Crystal Bowls, Cynthia and Rick Quintanal

The Crystal Cymbalogy Band formed out of a desire to create music that expressed each musicians heart and soul in their present moment. What evolved is an interactive play of consciousness wherein the musicians connect first to their own essence and soul level then to each other and lastly but most importantly to those present in the audience. This requires deep listening to all of the energies in the performance space. Each concert is unique in that it is completely improvised.

Dave's own projects include: The Dave Anderson Group, and the DAG Special Projects Unit – of which the long running improvisational duo "Q&A" with Rick Quintanal is the chief effort. Additionally, Dave has composed and recorded original music for Theatreworks New Milford for several of their productions: The Laramie Project; The Elephant Man; and Dog Sees God. He owns and manages Flying Squirrel Studio, where he has engineered and played on over a dozen recording projects for various jazz/improvisational artists.
Dave and Ricks' "Q&A" project was actually the inspiration to venture into the format we have. He and Rick have spent many hours (most likely adding up to years) improvising together in the studio.

Karl Spicer- Shakuhachi
Karl is an accomplished bassist in NYC,who plays Jazz "mostly on the dinner cruise Bateaux" in New York. He also plays the bamboo flute from Japan known as the Shakuhachi. He's into Brazilian music and plays guitar/sings Bossa Nova. We first heard about Karls passion for Shakuhachi through his website. Rick was reconnecting with Karl who had played a few jazz gigs on bass with Rick on drums.
Karl and his instrument added a new dimension to our Solstice concert and we excited to have him back with us again soon! It has such a lush warm tone and very definitively Japanese sound.
